A Little Luxury
for My Health

Hello, I am Hong Ji-yeon, the director of Yon Oriental Clinic.

I’ve noticed so many people lately who don't have the time to take care of themselves, so today I’d like to share some personal thoughts.

"I, Hong Ji-yeon"—someone’s wife, a mother of children, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, an Oriental clinic director... I’m not alone in this. Most women my age are likely balancing many roles as well.

However, the important thing is that I am getting older, and if I don’t take care of myself, I won't be able to do anything else. I also make sure to take my herbal medicine regularly and try my best to look after myself.

Self Care

My Health is a Necessity, Not a Luxury

I try to avoid things that are bad for me, I exercise, and I make sure to take time for proper rest, even at home. That is the only way I can fully deliver positive energy to my patients. When I feel a lot of stress, I treat myself to a little shopping to provide some mental comfort.

Sometimes people think that investing in themselves is a luxury, but I disagree. My health is not a luxury item; it is a necessity. Only when I am happy can my children be happy and can my home be filled with laughter. No matter what anyone says, a mother is the pillar of the home!

Raising children and being filial are important, but I hope you never forget that only when you are healthy and happy can you truly protect your family.

My Health Must Be
the Top Priority

We all have limited resources—
time, financial, and mental—
that we can manage.

Mother is the pillar of the family
POINT 01

Reset Priorities

There are no infinite resources. In everyday life, unless something urgent happens, 'my health' must be the number one priority.

POINT 02

Ask for Help

Don't try to do everything alone; if it's too difficult, ask for help. If your stamina is at a 1 and you force yourself to do 1.5, you will eventually see warning signs in your thyroid, uterus, or digestive system.

POINT 03

Boost Stamina and Reduce Work

Maintaining health is about boosting your stamina while reducing your workload. Boosting your stamina does not mean it's okay to overload yourself with more work.

POINT 04

Acknowledge Aging and Limits

You must accept that you are aging slightly more today than yesterday. Tragedy occurs only when you push yourself like you did in your youth.

Warm Words

Start with
a Kind Word

To myself, for working hard today...
Offer a word of comfort.
Why not express gratitude and apologies
to the organs in your body?

"Thank you... and I’ll be counting on you in the future too!"

Comfort for the heart

"Sorry for being irritable today. Heart, it must have been tough for you, right?"

Comfort for the liver

"Liver, thank you for working hard to process my stress."

Comfort for the digestive system

"Sorry for making you work hard to digest all that oily food today. I'll try to cut back on it from now on."

"Thinking it’s too late may mean it truly is too late.
Start right now!

Wouldn't it be okay to indulge in a little luxury for the health of your mind and body?"
